Back to School!!

I'm starting school again in January! I cannot wait! I've already finished all of my general education requirements and I can focus on my major, which is music, obviously. I took a year and a half off due to lack of funds. But now I qualify for financial aid, after all these years.

Due to the fact that my father "made to much money" I was never able to get any financial aid, my parents had to pay out of pocket for my, and my older brothers, college education. It was only recently, when I reached the age of 24, that I was able to get financial aide. I obviously think that
financial aide is a great thing! But now days you can only afford school if you're rich or poor, their is no room for the middle class. You can say, "but you make $100,000 a year."  Sure, but once you take out taxes, rent, gas, various bills, and not to mention other children who also need to go to college, that doesn't leave room for anything! Maybe a little bit for one, or two kids.

Yes, my family income was much greater than lots of other people so of course it may seem selfish coming from a place of comfort. But, people don't consider that we're not rich, we're middle class, so we often couldn't pay the bills, or couldn't finish school due to lack of funds. The rich have enough money to not even think about where or how they'll go to college. The poor have money thrown at them from the government.

Obviously I think anyone who can't afford college should get help, but they make it difficult for me because my daddy made to much. What about the people who are estranged from their families, the government still will not provide them with financial aid because the family that they no longer speak to and cannot get any financial help from makes too much money.

They shouldn't base my qualifications on how much my parents make, it isn't the governments business if my parents choose to help me with my education. Everyone deserves the right to go to school, and they deserve help based on their financial situation, and theirs alone.

I'm done with my rant. I am so excited I can finally begin school again. I've been delayed for far too long, and I can't wait.

Check out these cute nails for school...totally off topic.
