Rhyming: Part 1

Lyrics that rhyme are memorable, and easy to sing along to. They roll off the tongue easily and form easily to melody's.

But, do not sacrifice the idea or meaning for the sake of a rhyme. Do not be so focused on rhyming that your song has no meaning, or makes no sense to the listener.

Too much rhyme is ridiculous.  It works for Dr. Seuss, but unfortunately, if you want to be taken seriously as a lyricist, stay away from over rhyming.

Also remember that it's O.K. not to rhyme! Rhyming is good, but not every song needs to rhyme. If the song is full meaning and it makes sense to you it's bound to make sense to someone else.

Trying writing a song, with rhyme, and one without. Content is more important than rhyme.
