Ransom Lyrics!

Have you ever felt like you weren't the creative type? You couldn't understand how some people could turn an ordinary situation into a colorful work of art.  Me too.

Well, I learned an amazing way to write song for us less creative types. It's simple and quick!

Step 1: Pick a song, any song! Top 40 to random folk song. I don't recommend picking a song you know the lyrics to though, and I'll explain later.
Step 2: Enlarge to about 28 or 36, if your using
Times New Roman.

Step 3: Cut out all the words! Yes, all of them! If there are a lot of  "whoa's" or "oh's" or anything like that, go ahead and forget about those if you want.

Step 4: Mix it up!

Step 5: Put a sentence together!

Like I said earlier I don't recommend using a song you already know the lyrics to, because when you try to put a new sentence together you'll be thinking about the song you just cut up. It's rather frustrating, and is not conducive for trying to come up with a new song.

While this method might not work for you when you're trying to come up with a whole new theme or feeling or whatever, it will definitely help get your creativity going! This is also a great group exercise! Try it with a friend, it's so much fun! Or try it with your child, it's a wonderful way to help children use their imaginations and creativity!
