Rhyming: Part 3; Rhyme Format
The rhyme format, or rhyme scheme is how you will layout your rhymes. There are an infinite number of ways to layout your rhymes but here are the basics.
A-B-A-B The first line rhymes with the third, while the second rhymes with the fourth.
A-A-B-B
The first line rhymes with the second, while the third rhymes with the fourth.
A-A-A-A
The same rhyming sound throughout.
A-B-C-B
The first and third line don't rhyme at all, while the second and fourth line do rhyme.
As I said before, there are unlimited ways to layout your rhymes. You could rhyme in any combination you want. There are no strict rules, only guidelines and ideas. If you want a rhyming scheme as strange as A-C-C-B-A-D, go for it!

Rhyming: Part 2; Types of Rhymes
Rhyming doesn't have to be exact, like "cat and bat." Rhyming like that is a classic way to rhyme, but there are other ways to rhyme also.
Perfect rhymes: Like my example above, end rhyming is when the last word of a line rhymes with the last word of another line, like in "The Night Before Christmas."
Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
In hopes that St Nicholas soon would be there.
Obviously this example is a poem, which is different from lyrics, but I'll explain the differences and similarities of poems and lyrics in another post.
Internal rhymes: This is when you rhyme two words within the same line. In Eminem's "Ricky Ticky Tock" he uses internal rhymes as well as end rhymes.

Rhyming: Part 1
Lyrics that rhyme are memorable, and easy to sing along to. They roll off the tongue easily and form easily to melody's.
But, do not sacrifice the idea or meaning for the sake of a rhyme. Do not be so focused on rhyming that your song has no meaning, or makes no sense to the listener.

Re-write
If you are an aspiring lyricist one of the worst things that get you down about writing is yourself. You are your own worst critic! That's good...to a point. Be hard on yourself and push yourself to be better but never doubt yourself and don't be scared to write something crazy! A great tip I learned was to re-write everything. You may think the song is perfect, you can't believe you wrote such an amazing song. Put that song away for a week or two, or even a month. When you come back to read it, you'll find something you can fix.

Holiday Rage
Early yesterday morning Johnny and Crayola got in a car accident, near where Nick was in his accident. Oh, who is Johnny and Crayola? Friends of ours. They're pretty cool.

Back to School!!
I'm starting school again in January! I cannot wait! I've already finished all of my general education requirements and I can focus on my major, which is music, obviously. I took a year and a half off due to lack of funds. But now I qualify for financial aid, after all these years.
Due to the fact that my father "made to much money" I was never able to get any financial aid, my parents had to pay out of pocket for my, and my older brothers, college education. It was only recently, when I reached the age of 24, that I was able to get financial aide. I obviously think that

Life Should Be A Musical
I think not only was music created for Gods enjoyment but for ours. It's one of the greatest things the human mind can achieve. Music, along with all art forms. Painters, dancers,

Falling in selfishness, arrogance, jealousy, failure...
Too much emphasis is put on ourselves. We think if we love ourselves or put our needs first we will be better equipped to love others and be in meaningful, committed relationships. People are always saying, "you need to love yourself before you can love others." This is the only way to true happiness. But, I was always taught that we should put others wants and needs before our own. I believe that if we, as individuals, make a conscious decision to be second to others that we will love better and live happier lives.
Being loving is a selfish act in and of itself because when you show love to others and you witness the positive effect it has on them, you feel good about yourself, which makes loving

Friend

I write about my life, and friends and family, because that's always a great way to get the creative juices flowing. I also apologize for any future rants, that is not my intention.
First story is about my best friend Zoe and me. She picked the name I would use to write about her.

Rhyming
Some people can think of rhymes instantly like they were in a constant rap battle. I am not one of those people.
If you are a rhyming god, congratulations! You're brain works in ways that I cannot fathom!
If, on the other hand, you are like me and you require extra help, I suggest obtaining a rhyming dictionary. They are great resources for when you're in a slump. I often have

Eavesdropping
People say crazy, funny, and insightful things when they think no one is listening.
Next time you're out with your friends, try listening to a near by conversation. Don't forget a notebook. If you hear anything interesting write it down. Write anything and everything you hear, and see. You never know what's going to lead you to the perfect song, or story.

Political Pop Songs
I will say that the lyrics come from an important world view that I take very seriously. There are two sides to this topic, some for and some against it. I will also say that this world view is often used as part of political platforms, rallies, and debate.
